Facebook Headquarters

I was invited by another nonprofit, Vets in Tech, to go to Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park for an all day event designed to bring US Military Veterans together that are working in the tech industry at any level to discuss ideas, network, and share. This was truly an honor for me to be around my military brothers and sisters. I served my time in the Air Force from 2000 to 2007 and I am beyond grateful for all of the opportunities in and out of the service that have come to me from the military. This opportunity was unique because within the first hour of the event we were told to go to the front of the (very big) room and pitch our company to a panel of very very wealthy investors. It was a great learning opportunity for myself and the individuals that joined my team. Out of the 12 companies that pitched their products and myself as the only nonprofit, the judges let me know that we scored 4th place. That gives me great hope that I will do even better next time!
